QA Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced QA Engineer to join our ambitious and friendly team.

The main focus of the role is to perform manual testing to ensure that work items meet the acceptance criteria you help define. You will actively participate in sprint ceremonies: daily stand-up, sprint planning, sprint review & retrospective and backlog refinement meetings.

In the space of two short years our Bristol based office has grown to over 90 staff members, with the assistance of an $8 million-dollar investment by Goldman Sachs. In order to assist with our ongoing success, we now require a bright and enthusiastic QA Engineer to join our friendly and ambitious team.

Experience & Responsibilities

  • Performing manual testing to ensure that work items meet the acceptance criteria you help define.
  • Identifying when features do not meet expected behaviour and explaining your observation to the team, including developers, business analysts and other QA.
  • Actively participating in sprint ceremonies: daily stand-up, sprint planning, sprint review & retrospective and backlog refinement meetings.
  • Work with developers to help them understand quality standards and contribute to the testing effort through automated testing.
  • Ensuring the team is adhering to their definition of done and not being afraid to call the team to task.
  • An aptitude for, and interest in, automation testing.
  • Investigate and design/build solutions to any potential quality weak spots on the platform/development workflow.
  • Have a thorough understanding of QA principles, tools and techniques and have solid experience in a similar role.
  • Good understanding of development processes.
  • Thorough understanding of testing concepts, methodologies and processes
  • Demonstrate a positive can-do attitude.
  • Have strong interpersonal skills and be able to work in partnership with other people.
  • Ability to work under pressure, organise and prioritise responsibilities.
  • Some programming language experience.
  • Experience with GIT and TestRail desirable.
