Alex Kliemt was drawn to Immersive Labs’ innovative approach to making the people side of cyber training more dynamic and measurable. “The idea of offering gamified learning felt like the Avengers of cyber skills development.” When considering taking an account management role at the company, he couldn’t resist the opportunity to join a “super hero squad.” Ever since joining the team a year and a half ago, Alex has been excited by the industry and energized by working with cutting-edge technology and cyber drills. He finds fulfilment and continuous growth in his work, expressing how working with Immersive Labs’ ever-evolving technology offers him the opportunity to share solutions that ensure organizations are ready for cyber threats.
Alex’s role at Immersive Labs
At Immersive, Alex is an Enterprise Account Manager for the DACH region. As he puts it, Alex is the “friendly face helping our customers succeed with the Immersive Labs platform.”His role allows him to use his many talents, including being a strategist, problem-solver, and translator, translating both English into German, as well as complex industry lingo into approachable terminology.
He starts each morning with an espresso as he dives into client communications, ranging from checking emails, hopping on calls, and leading meetings. One of the things he appreciates the most about Immersive is the fast-paced nature of the company and how dynamic his role is. “Every day feels like an exciting new challenge,” Alex says, “it keeps me on my toes!”
Alex takes on those challenges with “a mix of humor, problem-solving, and coffee-fueled determination.” More specifically, he confronts larger challenges into smaller chunks. As a passionate athlete in his personal life, he’s quick to compare his strategy to competing in a tennis match. “Focus on your serve, then your volley... take it one point at a time.” When he hits a more significant roadblock, Alex compares notes with his teammates. He’s a firm believer in “teamwork makes the dream work” and is grateful for his amazing colleagues’ insights.
Life outside of Immersive
Alex loves sports. In his free time, you can find him on the tennis court, basketball court, or simply watching a match; Alex is always game for a game. Beyond organized athletics, Alex enjoys exploring the outdoors. Spending some quality time in nature is one of his favorite ways to clear his mind after a long day’s work.
He does, however, recognize that his amount of free time will be changing this winter as he embarks on a new adventure. Alex and his wife are excited to be welcoming their first child in February 2025, and they could not be happier or more excited about it.
The power of flexibility
As he prepares for his transition into parenthood, Alex is relieved knowing that he works fora company that offers him benefits that will help him adjust to his upcoming life changes. He appreciates the flexibility Immersive Labs offers, giving him the ability to adjust his working hours when needed. Thanks to the support of his tight-knit team, Alex can step away when needed, whether that’s for a quick tennis match or just decompressing after a busy day. “The company’s emphasis on well-being reminds me it’s okay to log off and recharge.”
What makes Immersive Labs different
When asked what sets Immersive Labs apart from other workplaces, two words came to Alex’s mind: the mission and the people. “Knowing that what we do genuinely helps organizations build cyber resilience is incredibly motivating.” He sees his colleagues excited to log on in the morning, driven to get to the next level knowing that the world's largest organizations trust Immersive to give them the human edge. The opportunity to nurture relationships with companies, introducing them to technology that will empower them to prove and improve their cyber capabilities, is a privilege that Alex doesn’t take for granted.
The second way Alex sees Immersive differentiating itself from other companies is its people. “It’s a team of passionate, talented individuals who make even tough days enjoyable.” He’s grateful for the support of both his local team and international community of Immersers. Despite not living near either of Immersive’s office hubs in Bristol, UK or Boston, USA, Alex still feels that sense of belonging in the organization through regular virtual events and consistent company communications.
Alex is also looking forward to meeting up with his teammates from around the world atImmersive Labs’ annual in-person Revenue Kickoff and company-wide events, taking place in Dublin this January.
